Stay Pawsitive Stimulus

ARGONN is the proud recipient of funding from Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation.

TNR is a major part of what we do, but due to recent provider price increases our program was in jeopardy.  We are thrilled to be able to continue this extremely important work in the City of Fernley and Lyon County.  Over the past 10 years we have trap-neutered-returned over 2,000 cats, and our work is far from done!  Thank you Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation!

ARGONN's presence in the community

 2020 in Review:

 © Cats/kittens:

o Intake/lives saved: 249 (down from 276 in 2019)

o Adoptions: 167 (Due to COVID-19 restrictions we could not fully participate at PetSmart, most adoptions were website or Adoptapet.com generated)

o Transfers:  61 (to other network partners for added exposure)

© #SpayTogether

was a national coalition of sponsors that awarded ARGONN $4,500 to spay/neuter 100 cats in a 3 month period. With added funding from private donors and a copay of $20 per cat plus very generous help from local veterinary practices, we were able to meet and exceed the quota.

© Trap-neuter-return (TNR):

o 306 (down from 463 in 2019 due to COVID restrictions) (Thanks mainly to Nevada Humane Society)

o By area: Fernley = 169, other Lyon County = 137

© Dog/cat food distribution program:

hundreds of pounds of pet food is given monthly to local food banks, senior centers and individuals in need. This year we were honored with a pet food grant from the Humane Society of the United States to assist with COVID emergency pet food relief.

We are a 501(c)(3) organization. We would not receive the grants or access to facilities that make our work possible without the support and generous donations from YOU, our community. Thank you for believing in ARGONN’s mission to save as many lives as possible.

In 2020 ARGONN achieved some major milestones for our 10 year anniversary:

2,036 feral felines TNR’d (trap-neuter-return)

By area: Fernley = 1,357, other Lyon County = 679

1,270 kittens/cats have found permanent, forever homes

(754 by adoption, 516 by transfer to network partners)
